ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome! My name is Dana and I am the founder and literacy specialist at Loving Literacy. I have a BA in History and a MS in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington, and a MEd in Reading from Virginia Commonwealth University. I’ve been in education for almost a decade in various settings from public school classrooms to private intervention, working with all kinds of students including those with Dyslexia, Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and other disabilities and neurodivergences. I love to READ and believe that every child deserves to be a confident reader. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham, always keep up with the latest in literacy education research, and have a vast toolbox to pull from to make sure your unique reader gets exactly what they need. When I’m not helping children reach their full reading potential, I enjoy horseback riding, crafting, and playing with my 4 year old daughter Matilda!
